The barometer is based on Dimona declarations, through which employers register every new hire and departure of employees. Because the information is available almost immediately, the RSZ can map labour market changes much faster than through traditional quarterly statistics. This allows for near real-time monitoring of employment and quicker detection of growth or slowdown signals.
The monthly figures provide insight into the number of employees and can be broken down by gender, age category, and region of residence, among other factors. However, the RSZ emphasizes that the Employment Barometer should primarily be seen as a rapid economic indicator.
The figures contain less detail on characteristics such as working hours, employee status, or sector, as they are based on Dimona data. The barometer does not replace the comprehensive quarterly statistics but complements them by providing faster insight into recent labour market developments.
The monthly Employment Barometer can be found on the homepage and in the statistics section of the RSZ website, as well as on their LinkedIn page.
