Solar energy continues to be a logical choice for many public organizations to reduce energy costs and promote sustainability. Technical possibilities are constantly expanding. Therefore, VEB has renewed its framework agreement for solar panels and batteries. Organizations can now rely on future-oriented solutions that go beyond classic PV installations.
With this framework agreement, VEB guides public organizations throughout the entire process, from the initial analysis to the project's realization. Customization is central, as each organization has unique building assets, energy consumption, and strategic goals. VEB experts determine which solution offers the greatest return based on these factors.
The renewed framework agreement offers broad possibilities. In addition to solar panels on flat and pitched roofs, it includes solutions for green roofs, facade-integrated solar panels, carports, and ground-mounted systems. Organizations can choose from various panel types, such as full black, glass-glass, and lightweight panels. Collaboration with three installers – Linea Trovata, Energreen, and Sparki – ensures higher quality and, especially, larger volumes.
A significant innovation is the integration of battery storage. Batteries allow for temporary storage of locally generated solar energy for later use, enabling organizations to directly utilize a larger portion of their own production. Batteries also offer additional possibilities for smarter energy management, capturing peak consumption, and adapting to future developments in the energy market. Through VEB, one can opt for a battery as an addition to new panels, or for a battery alone.
VEB's approach remains familiar. After an application via the EE-portal, a site visit and feasibility analysis follow. Subsequently, experts develop a design study including dimensioning, cost estimation, and return calculation. Based on this, the organization can make an informed go/no-go decision, followed by project execution and delivery. Organizations can count on experienced, carefully selected implementation partners for analysis through to realization, with solutions tailored to their building and consumption profile. VEB continues to provide support for quality control. The installation can be embedded within a broader energy or real estate strategy.
For new installations, monitoring and maintenance are also possible. This ensures the installation continues to perform optimally after delivery, including permanent monitoring, periodic inspections, and legal checks. The renewed framework agreement thus offers more application possibilities, integrated battery storage, and additional options for smart energy management, representing a significant step forward compared to previous generations of framework agreements.
