Bpost's tariffs for stamps and parcels will be adjusted from January 1, 2027. This is happening amidst a structural decrease in postal volumes and rising costs. For most users, the impact will remain limited, representing an average of about 17 cents extra per month per household.
Belgians' sending habits continue to evolve rapidly. A study by the Belgian Institute for Postal Services and Telecommunications (IBPT) shows that in 2025, only 22% of respondents still sent letters, compared to 41% five years earlier. This is reflected in the processed mail volumes, which decreased by 14.3% in the first quarter of 2026 compared to 2025. Even though the company continues to ensure mail collection and distribution across the entire territory, this structural volume decrease mechanically increases the cost per shipment, alongside rising costs, particularly wages.
National postal tariffs:
- The Non Prior stamp (delivery within 3 working days) will increase to €1.77 per unit (€1.72 per sheet of 10).
- The Prior stamp (delivery the next working day) will be set at €2.73 per unit (€2.68 per sheet of 5).
The residential rate for a registered letter will also evolve to €10.76. A potential additional adjustment of up to 3% could occur in 2027, depending on inflation, although Bpost has never had to activate this mechanism.

To limit the impact of the tariff adjustment, Bpost continues to offer more advantageous alternatives, including the Non Prior option, purchasing stamps in sheets, and creating online labels for parcels.
International tariffs:
- Standardized shipments to Europe: €3.36 per unit (€3.24 per sheet of 5).
- Shipments to the rest of the world: €3.58 per unit (€3.46 per sheet of 5).

Parcels:
The tariffs for prepaid national parcels will increase by an average of 4.5%, with variations depending on weight and type of shipment. For example, the bpack 24h will now cost €9 instead of €8.60. Prepaid international parcels will not see a price increase.
During peak activity periods (between Black Friday and Christmas), a surcharge of €1 per parcel will be applied to compensate for additional costs and encourage better distribution of shipments outside these dates.

For the majority of users, the impact on the monthly budget will remain limited to 17 cents per month. Indeed, 82% of customers currently prefer the Non Prior stamp, and 99% buy their stamps in sheets of 5 or 10 units, allowing them to benefit from the best rates. Bpost encourages customers to send parcels outside peak periods and offers digital solutions like online label printing and 5,000 pickup points across the country.
The price of a stamp reflects the full cost of the postal service: collection, sorting, transport, distribution, infrastructure management, and potential returns. It also includes Bpost's continuous investments in technological modernization and the sustainability of the logistics network.
Stamps purchased before 2027 remain valid indefinitely thanks to the postage unit system (1, 2, or 3).
